TR2/3/3A TR3a in a spin

Just a tire story.
My partner in the race car had the bright idea to get some harder tires for a 12 hour race
so" they would last better". They cornered much worse than you can imagine. With no spare set to install,
we "drove" these for the entire race. There was one particular corner where I personally spunout at least
10 or 12 times in my sessions at the wheel.
From the video ,I would say your tires were still a bit cold when you went around.......

It looks to me like you were setup for the correct line to continue down to the far curve at the end of the straight. I think when they setup the route for race they should have blocked access to the far end of the straight with maybe a hay bale or two? Nice recovery though. (y)

With it being a sprint. We go straight on to the finish up the slope on the 2nd lap
You just have to remember the course for each lap.

WOW that gave zero warning, didn't it? Were you at all worried that something had broken to cause it, or am I just paranoid?

My father scolded me once that I couldn't possibly be going fast enough because I never spun (that he knew of). But this was from a man who was nearly booted from his first driver's school because he couldn't string two laps together without spinning, so... (Also I answered him by spinning in the very next session, so there!)

I'd call that a gentle slide!. I can say I am very impressed that you were able to take essentially ALL of the body roll out of your TR. Very impressive. I noticed your steering wheel is on the wrong side and you were going opposite way around the track from how we do it over here!?!

Ha ha I’ve tried cars where you drive in the wrong side :ninja:and I keep opening the door when I go the change gear.
This track has lots of layouts some the wrong way round.

We do another venue that’s a figure of 8 with a cross over so as to please everyone ( but only one car at a time)

Just saying a gentle slide doesn’t encourage viewers.

As to the body roll.
7/8th front anti roll (sway ?) bar 420lb front springs and 160lb rear leaf springs. Standard steering box. Modified fulcrum point for tr4 top wishbones with 1.75 deg neg camber.
It’s still has very good road manners.

I forgot to mention that this race finished up after dark, I can tell you that a spin after dark
on a poorly lit track is wild.
