TR2/3/3A Tr3A Door Cap

I'm starting to recover my door caps as one of my winter projects. Can anyone tell me how far down the steel door cap does the cotton batting (TRF #SLP194) go? Does it just cover the sponge rubber core or is it brought down and rolled over the bottom edge of the base (TRF #703212) along with the leather cap?

Mine has rotted away and I'm starting with nothing but the base.

Thanks for input
Bert

Definitely not all the way around the bottom, or you'll have trouble gluing the leather. Mine went around the foam and just overlapped the metal.

Your right John, I'd have probably figured that out at the last minuet and Eric's pixs are a worth thousand words

Thanks Guys!
