TR2/3/3A TR3A Crank Dog

Earlier this year I had the engine out of my TR3A and at the time I reset the location of the Crank drive dog trying to get it to match the handbook (10 minutes to 4)
I adjusted the number of shims to achieve that setting. Since I reinstalled the engine it seems thae I must not have had it torqued up fully so the dog has turned a few degrees and it is about 12 and 6 now. This makes starting on the handle more difficult. I do not do that often but it is nice to have that ability.
Is it possible to remove the bolt while the engine is in the car and everything is in place?

Uhhh.. maybe.

I changed the fan on my TR3A without undoing anything else so I can confirm that was possible. I wondered at the time if I could undo the crank bolt by using an impact wrench with a long extension through the crank hole. The problem may be that even if you can get a socket on there, it will also need room to back out a bit.

I have the Yellow fan installed so the fan bolts are obscured by the flange on the fan. I had considered the extension to remove it. My other thought is to add a bit to the crank handle as a temporary measure. Or find a second crank handle and modify it.

As it is the point of compression has the handle at 12 O clock so you do not have much turning momentum.
