TR2/3/3A TR3A Accelerator Rod Dissasembly HELP!

So I have a good accelerator rod assembly but I would like to replace the bushings. I cant get the bloody thing apart. I've driven out the pin at the linkage end, I was told that I should just be able to drive the rod out of the little housing. Not budging. Do I need to apply heat? I have sprayed plenty of Kroil , but to no avail. So whats the way to get it apart?

Your help greatly appreciated, thanks, Tinkerman the Frustrated

Dick-

Based on what I've read, you need to install it in your car, wait for a dark, rainy night and when you are driving in a very desolate area the roll pin will break and the whole thing will come apart leaving you stranded!

Seriously, I thought it was just the one roll pin, but I haven't checked in a while. I have a couple torn down in the garage I can take a look at this evening if you don't get a response before then.
