TR3A #12 timing chain cover redo

Well after getting the TCC back on and sealed as well as I could....I read an article by Bob Schaller about using a Toyota R20 tensioner as a improved modification.....I could not resist at least checking it out.
so I removed the cover again to ascertain how the R20 oil pressure activated tensioner would work.
it would be necessary to run an oil line from the oil filter housing to a new oil port in the cover.....it may be an improvement, but I'm not up for it.
however I did replace the tensioner washer & pin with a more robust one. Also I found that acetone is the best solvent to remove hylomar gasket sealant
(after trying carb cleaner, paint thinner and seafoam.)

one other small item, I noticed that the generator pedestal mount was wallowed out and the bolt was loose.
after a little research I found this to be a common problem, that has lead to many generators abandoning the car at speed & taking all sorts of things with them...such as starters, carbs, mufflers, etc. it's worth checking out.
