No packing or gasket that I know of. When I first fitted the windscreen (post 60k style), things didn't line up so good, so I loosened the screws between the stanchion and the glass frame and was able to get the stanchions to line up to the body better. I then tightened the stanchions to the body and then carefully tightened the glass frame screws. I was surprised on how much slop there was when I loosened the frame screws and the stanchions then just fell into place. It might work for your situation.
