I'm working on a TR3A that came with 2 sets of wheels . One set of wires and one set of discs . I'm going to have to replace a couple of wheel studs in the hubs , and am debating whether to change them all to short studs , which would mean that I could only use the wire wheels . ---Or changing them to long studs and then using spacers if I wanted to use the wire wheels , and could also use the discs . --I'm just not sure how satisfactory the spacers are when used with the wire wheel hub adapters ? Any input ?

My car originally came with wire wheels and the short studs. If it weren't for the crazy design of the rear studs, I would have replaced them with longer studs and used spacers with the wires. This would give me the option to go with steel of alloy wheels if I wanted to. I wouldn't change or cut long studs.

Keep the long studs and use spacers. Have done this numberous times. Buy the spacers from Joe Alexander, they are designed for this purpose and fit well. You can swap wheels back and forth in minutes.
