I know this has been discussed but I can't find the thread. What color silver paint is best to paint the rims on a TR3A? I believe it was mentioned Eastwood has a close match but looking at their site I see a few different silver paints. This will be one of my small spring projects for this year repainting the white rims on my '3 to the correct silver.

Here is what I've been able to find:

Ford Silver - DAR-2593 (Argent Silver)
Ford Silver - PPG - DCC2593 polyurethane (Argent Silver)
Hammered Silver - Ditzler DAR 2593
Bill Piggott’s book: Aluminum/Silver Wheel Paint Dockers CD 31568
1974 /1976 Ford Granada Silver

Not for a 3 yet...but used this one on my TR6 wheels and was/am very happy.

Forgot to mention, I also used the Eastwood Diamond Coat Clear on them as well.

The Argent Silver as stated above is correct or look up 1976 Ford Granada/Mercury Monarch Silver was used in the 70s and 80s as concours silver on wires and etc. for all English makes.

Agree with using PPG DAR-2593 silver. I used it on my Spitfire wheels and they look great. A pint was more than enough to completely paint five wheels.

Thanks for the replys, lot of good info. I'll post some pics of the wheels after I get them painted. Right now they are painted white which the guy I bought the car from assured me was the correct color for the '61 TR3A. At the time i didn't know any better, now of course, I know they should be silver.
