Hey guys,
Had a great drive weekend before last- took the 3 out over the Verrazano and then out to Scranton, PA via back roads. Spent the night and worked my way back on Sunday. Car ran fantastic, put a few hundred miles on.
This weekend I'm taking it up to Buzzard's Bay to visit some relatives. Looks like the weather will be perfect again.
As preventative maintenance, I'm going to put a new water pump in (this is one of the only parts I haven't replaced in the last 10 years). Any tips or tricks for doing this? Seems pretty straight forward.
Also, I'd like to move up to a 185 degree thermostat. I've got a 160 in there now, and with the aluminum radiator and 40-50 degree weather i was running at 170-175 on the back roads. Fantastic for the engine, but I'd like a little heat in the cockpit for those outside temps! Of course I could just put the top on, but that defeats the whole purpose.
I thought that these thermostats were pretty common- can I just get one at Pep Boys? What do I ask for?
Cheers,
Gavin
