TR2/3/3A tr3 trip counter

Hi all well I made one of those trip counter rod thingies for the early tr3 speedo. It was not too difficult. I used a 1/8 rod form Home Depo then turned it down by putting it in a drill with sand paper for about 2 minutes. The rod needs to be just a fuss smaller than 1/8. I then just used a pistol drill with a 3/64 drill bit then clamped the piece to the table and drilled. The drilling actually was easier than I thought. I just eyeballed it. The first picture from left to right is the knob of a later tr3 speedo and the rest are the early stuff that uses the pot metal gauge can. I broke that one rod about 30 years ago putting in a tranny and just got around to fixing the thing. The far right is the new complete one I made with the little wheel move on to it from the broken one. The one rod in the middle is just an extra I made. Over the years, I have seen a lot of speedos on Ebay that are missing the trip rod perhaps from the same clutch installations problems.

Cool, I did not believe I could have made one so went and bought a spare speedo for this part so I'm sure I paid way more for mine that you did. Way to go.......
