TR2/3/3A TR3 SU's vs DGV's

OK, so there are apparently no linkage pics available for TR3/4 installs, which has gotten me thinking whether I should just scrap the DGV idea and get the SU's rebuilt. Some background: the DGV's were bought shortly after I bought the car and noticed the dashpots on the SU's were rubbing the hood. At the time, I thought that someone installed wrong SU's which were too tall and I needed something with less clearance. Did a basic price comparison of new DGV's vs SU's and clearance analysis and just arbitrarily decided to got with the DGV's. Later discovered that the engine had a TR4 front plate installed that pushed everything up 3 inches.

Anyway, I'm looking for any opinion on the argument for a TR3/4 application. I'm nearing the end of frame off, and am awfully tired of spending the money, but obviously, if I can't get the linkage sorted out on the DGV's and they're not all that anyway, then it is time to get moving on getting the SUs rebuilt. Thanks all!

Haveing had both on my 3, I prefer the SU's easier to tune and stay tuned.

Its your prefference, but many people pefer the SU's over DGV's

I went with the DGV's on my 6' but kinda wished I went with SU's now...

Dont get me wrong , I get great performance with the DGV's but I think I woulf probably get as good if not better with the SU's, & prolly better gas mileage.

25mpg with my dual SU H6's - nary a problem yet.

Had a Weber in my (former) MGB. Pain to reach the darn adjustment screw!

Much prefer the "simplicity" and efficiency of the SU.

Add a vote for the superior SUs.

Nial - what made you decide to pull the Weber and use the SU's?

Looks.

This is a very gently driven street car, so it's not about performance (which I'd guess is better with the SUs).

The SUs are easy to deal with but so is the downdraft Weber.

I just think the SUs *look* better.
