TR2/3/3A TR3 slave cylinder, What I'm I doing wrong

I brought this up before and was never able to solve it ,and put it on the back burner. Now I need to get it done. The pushrod measures 4 3/4" long. Either I have the wrong pushrod or slave cylinder. The only way to install now would be to push the piston in the cylinder almost all the way in. I have it threaded into the fork all the way. Is this the correct way to mount the cylinder? I know I'm missing the return spring in the picture. In the shop manual is shows a short stubby slave cylinder which I think was used up to comm #13045 mine is 14819. Any ideas

Your setup looks fine to me, except you'll have to back the pushrod out of the clevis. The piston is supposed to be bottomed in the cylinder.

Here is the book diagram of the later Girling setup

Thanks Randall I was going to remove this thread but you beat me to it with a reply. My mind was thinking backwards on how the system works. Thanks again
