Tr3 seats--- when I move the seat all the back, the seat itself cantilevers on the track runners so much that the bottom of the seat pan bends down to the carpet. Was there a piece of rubber or something fasten to the bottom of the seat when they were new.
 
No, there was not. All the stress goes on the stamped sheet metal that makes the seat pan. Over time, all the original TR3 seat pans develop cracks...and that is very likely the "rocking" you are seeing.

Easy to check...just pop the cushion out and you can see the bolt heads.
