Folks,
I'm looking to replace the seats in my 61 TR3A. There is no saving whats left of mine. I've looked on Ebay and for $650 a fellow in Dayton Ohio will build me new original looking seats New_Replacement_Seats_TR3_Ebay and these look original. I have also found these Not_Original_looking_But_OK_with_me Does anyone have experience with either of these vendors seats. If so what can you tell me about them. I will be buying the seats at the end of May and right now I'm leaning towards the less expensive pair.

Don't overlook having a local shop make them. In some cases it is cheaper and better quality.

In SoCal, anyway, you can shake a tree and have quality custom upholstery options fall out of it that are cheaper (installed) that can replicate original patterns and make sure the foam fits.
 
If as you say there is no saving whats left,the local shop wont help much unless your sheet metal pans are ok.2tall complete seats with all new metal pans
are not much more than just the replacement sheetmetal pans from TRF or Moss.
I have seen finished Moss and TRF seats that are no dought top of the line concours but at about 2k for seat components and Then you have to build them, 2tall was a no brainer for my budget.

BTw way,if I knew you better,and we were having a friendly cold one ,Id probably say something like i would wrap the old seats with blankets and duct tape before i spent money on option two.

I just ordeted a complete interior from 2 tall and will agree with tom, the price is right for a bolt in and you're done
 
I have a set of covers from my 56 that are blue with white piping I would let go for cheap. These were done at a local shop and made from scratch. They are not the same style that you have, but they would be cheap. They were installed but I removed them, they were never used.
 
Mallard, How cheap? which shade of blue? I might be interested for a temporary fix.
rlrobian, there is a set of used ones on ebay that appear to be pretty good but are dark blue. If your frames are bad, these could give you a foundation to start from. They have one mounting hole that has some stress cracks but 15 minutes with a welder that can be fixed. They have buy it now and make offer listing on them.
p.s. If was having a cold one with you, I too, would say leave the later, non original, ones on ebay.
 
Kleykamp here are the seats. They do have some scuffs from storage.

It depends on your objectives.

You should talk to Mark Macy at Macy's Garage who has restored a number of award winning cars before you buy from Too Tall.
