Hi,
I saw a recent post where someone mentioned having a seat pattern for a TR3a... does anyone have a seat pattern for a small mouth TR3 or know where I might find one? Thanks in advance!

by the way, my seats had been recovered with non original all pleated white vinyl, so unfortunately I can't use the originals to make a pattern. thanks

Thanks for the link.
Excellent link I agree but note that the patterns are for post 60000 TR3s. Do you still need patterns for the earlier seats? Tom

Hi Tom,
Yes I am still looking for the correct patterns for the early style seats. This link does give me a good idea of the process and what I will be getting into though.
thanks!

Here is a little more info on sewing your seats. I can may be get some pictures for you at the local show this weekend, that might help making patterns. sewing them is not that difficult, it does require a good machine. They are available for very little on Craigslist. Look for pre 1980's solid steel machines and reviews of those machines online.

Thanks, looks like great information! A co-worker has a couple of high end sewing machines and has offered to give me a hand if I can come up with a pattern. I might need to see if there are any local small mouth 3 owners in my area that would let me take some measurements.

You have a PM. Tom

Reviving an old thread here but it's the only reference to early TR3 seat patterns (vertical pleats) I could find.

So I'm sewing my own upholstery and need some basic dimensions for the bottom and back pleat layout.

-How wide are the pleats, are they the same for the bottom cushion and back?
-How wide is the seat bottom at it's widest dimension?
-How wide is the "horseshoe" shaped piece of material that surrounds the pleats on the seat bottom and back? It looks like it varies some, maybe just a measurement in a few spots.

I couldn't do this work without this Forum! Thanks

Jeff
