TR2/3/3A TR3 Rear Over rider Bolts to Support Spring

Hi guys. Me again, scratching my head with my jigsaw puzzle boxes of old bolts. The question today is the bolts used to attach the rear bumpers (overrider) to the black spring. My old rusty bolts looks a bit like a hybrid carriage bolt, but it's slightly different.

Moss on line lists this bolt as p/n 322-090 and shows it as not available.
https://www.mossmotors.com/Shop/ViewProducts.aspx?PlateIndexID=43317#66

But, in the Moss catalog (paper edition) they show it as p/n 322-900 "bolt with nut and washer" @1.85. This is also the same p/n as for the front chrome bumper bolt.

VB lists it (p/n 9-969 @ $1.95) as a "chrome" bolt and also shows it as the same as used for the front bumper. https://www.victoriabritish.com/icatalog/tc/full.aspx?Page=13

It doesn't make sense to me these are chromed, being as the head doesn't show (at least in the rear). So, are these from either Moss or VB correct?

As for TRF - they don't seem to sell this piece.

Thanks in advance,

My parts book, page 138 shows A18 as pn# 550797 (4 req'd).
(TRF usually uses the same PN as is found in the parts book.)
TRF shows part number 550797 as "550090 SUPPLIED" -which is also a chromed bolt.

I know I have 2 sets of rear bumper springs and one set of really nice bumperettes, but I just spent 2 hours going through boxes looking for them. I have no idea where they are. I can find them easy on my spread sheet. I don't need them for a while, but it's starting to really bug me. They might be in the garage attic under the pile of fenders, doors, aprons, etc. I remember fitting them to the rear of the car when they came in the mail. It was an ebay xmas day.

I believe you are correct, the originals were not chromed. However, the chromed bolts do make an adequate substitute, and since they are all that is available ...

BTW, you should be able to download a copy of the parts book from https://docs.google.com/leaf?id=0B2H2NJt3...hYmRl&hl=en

Very handy when ordering from TRF and frequently helpful (tho not always) in figuring out what was original.

Hi There Tex,

It seems that you may have quite a few TR3 parts laying around?

Check the "Triumph Wanted" Ad I just posted & please let me know if you have what I`m looking for. I have a `57TR3 Small Mouth. The "Front" bumper brackets are different than on a "TR3A"!!

Thanx, Russ
