TR2/3/3A TR3 rear oil seal conversion kit

I am getting ready to start re-assembly of my engine. This was brought about by a broken crankshaft a year and a half ago. I am having a hard time deciding if I should convert the rear oil seal with the kits offered by either Moss or BPNW. I thought I was ready until I read some negative comments on the Web. It is worth it? Is one of the kits better than the other?

Personally I'm fine with the little spot on the floor from the original kind. And, you never have to worry about it leaking.....hehehe.
So mine's going original. I always felt it to be part of the charecter of these cars anyway. and it's fun to tell non-british car guys that you don't have a rear main seal. The look on thier face is priceless.
 
FWIW, there are some respected engine builders that believe the 'setting mandrel' dimensions given in the workshop manual are too large (and the plastic mandrels being sold are even worse). I already had the scroll ground off my 'new' crank (darn it), but if I hadn't, I'd try using the modified instructions and a new, original-type seal.

Also FWIW, I hear there have been some conversion kits sold with incorrect instructions packed with them. One of our local club members had to get her crank replaced after having it ground per the instructions ! And the vendor refused to accept responsibility for their instructions (which she double-checked with them) ruining her crank. Assembled according to instructions, her TR4 leaked badly(much worse than with the original worn-out seal).
 
A couple of weeks ago, I disassembled the engine on my TR3. After removing the flywheel, I noticed virtually NO OIL leakage from the original scroll seal. It may not be a perfect system, but if everything is set up properly, they can be made to work very well.
