I got the apron on. Boy, like try to line up the universe. :eeek:

Anyway, I see how the duct folds by looking at the Moss site, but they show four screws holding it in. Where do these go? And, I remember reading about painting it body color. Is that true?? What kind of paint will stick to the cardboard??

I think mine is held only by the bumperette supports (well, actually, by bolts and fender washers where the bumperette supports would be if I had the original bumperettes on the car). But TS39781LO did not originally have the duct (it was added later) so that doesn't prove anything.

If memory serves, the 4 sheet metal screws are supposed to go through the bottom lip about 2" apart (2 on each side) and into the 'shelf' of the front apron.

Body color is what the books say, but as always it's your car (so do what you like). Almost any kind of paint will stick well enough, the cardboard soaks it up.

Thanks Randall. I won't be installing a bumper on the car, so I'll just use some nuts and bolts where the brace would've bolted up and some sheet metal screws. Trickly little devil to get in there...

One of the reasons I painted the car black...anything that has to be body color is easy to match in any kind of paint!!

Edit: OK, I got it in and just used some 3/8" bolts where the braces for the bumper would bolt up, and that is sufficient to hold it in place. The whole duct itself is really just captured into the body work and the radiator. The bolts for the bumper brace just position it so it won't move. I see no reason to add additional fastenings.

You don't need any sheetmetal screws down into the floor pan behind the grille. Once it's in place, there is nowhere it can go.
