TR2/3/3A TR3 [pre TR3a] Luggage Rack

I got a really nice amco style luggage rack for my TR3. spent some money to have it rechromed and it looks great.

Unfortunately, because of some of the brackets particular to the TR3, it isn't going to fit on my '3. It will work on the '3a.

So now, I am once again looking for a luggage rack for my TR3. I think I will go for the gold here and see if anyone knows a source for an original factory option 57 TR3 Luggage Rack (if such a thing exists), or a reasonable reproduction.

Anyone?

Hey Glenn, Here is what an original luggage rack looks like, it attached to the hinges.

I got a repro from TRF of the factory rack which requires no drilling. Looks good, but came packed with a warning to keep it waxed as the chrome is porous. (Likely as original /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif )

However, the rubber 'feet' will leave marks in the paint. Lots better than holes in the boot, IMO, but still ...

I backed the rubber feet with sheet aluminum (to present a flat surface, the rubber was slightly cupped) and then backed that with some sweatshirt material, nappy side down. So far I have not got any marks and this is on a clear coat that shows a hazy mark from any abrasion.

anyone got a TRF part number? Their online catalog is inadequate.

Luggage Rack, original style; no drilled required, as rack fits to pins which replace trunk lid hinge pins, TR2, TR3"

Thanks Randall

When I got mine I had about a year wait. They seem to get them in small quantities and infrequently... but they do get them.

What I'm saying... call and talk to them about it as they usually have some idea what is in the pipeline if none are on the shelf.
