TR2/3/3A TR3 Paint Colors in a Can?

Working on my 1960 TR3A. The usual brake fluid leaks just wiped out the paint. Where can I order a spray can of the Signal Red to touch up area?

Just make sure it has / has not had the same sun exposure.

Suggestion: SPRAY KIT I have used similar setups with good results. Get the kit and have the paint supplier mix a bit from the numbers, the tire lid or whatever. (My supplier will mix very small quantities).

Do you have any NAPA stores in your area? Many of them can do paint in spray cans. And with all due respect to everyone else who has responded, I'm not sure I would obsess too much about a perfect color match around the master cylinder area. Fender/hood/door? Sure. Underbonnet? Not so much.... :wink:

I've had great luck using the Preval sprayers available at Home Depot for under $5.00.

I took my 60 3A by the automotive paint supplier here in town.
He brought out his computer matching system...and I did get the correct color match. Might give it a try if exact is what you are after. Gil NoCal

I have used this outfit for paint in both spray cans and bottles in Signal Red and also Triumph Racing Green. The color match was perfect in every case:

Tower Paint in Oshkosh

As I recall they offer both acrylic and lacquer.

I haven't used Tower Paint for any TR's, but have used them on other cars and their color match was very good.

That said... for a cheap alternative: Walmart's ColorPlace Fire Red is the closest rattle-can match to Signal Red that I've found on the shelf. Really close. Really cheap.

One should consider the original body paint type, as any overspray may cause original paint to run, learned from experience.

I strongly recommend paintscratch.com, from personal experience.

I had them mix a paint stick of of Magenta for my TR6 from the paint code and it is a very good match, almost perfect. I also had them mix a paint stick and spray can to match the non-standard color of my airplane from a small fairing that I sent them. Again, I was very happy with the result. Also, the person I talked to at Paintscrath was very knowledgeable about paint, compatibility, etc.

Thanks you all for your replies.
The car was originally robin egg blue. When I restored the chassis, I repainted the engine compartment signal red. Unfortunately, I threw away the automotive paint in a previous move 15 years ago. The only paint chips I have now are the long, noodily soft globs that come off in your hand.
At this point, I will take in a sample and see if they can match it.

The outside is still metalic blue. Waiting for the body work and paint.
