TR2/3/3A TR3 on Ebay

Looking at the pics, the price seems totally out to lunch for just a daily driver. Fishin for a sucker.

I agree with John. Nice car but to much money!

"A truly rust free example, factory overdrive car, but it does not have an overdrive gearbox in the car." Hard to say for sure, but what I see looks kinda like an OD gearbox!? Meanwhile, I'm not liking what I see in the full-front photo, with what appears to be a replacement apron (with no letters) and a rather "crooked" overall appearance. The frame doesn't look bad in the underside front shots, but.... ?

There's just so much 'wrong', IMHO, that I hesitate to enumerate.

Either prices have gone wayyyyy up recently, or he's got very high hopes.
That is definitely an OD gearbox. For $24k I'd expect a rather high level of detail. Very decent solid car there, but lots of rough edges.

I think he is counting on someone making him an offer. Someone maybe not as knowledgeable about the car or its value and making him a "somewhat" lower offer which he will gladly accept.
Maybe the seller is a sly fox?

I've said it before - I hope he get's it. I have always thought TR3's are way undervalued when compared to the likes of the Healey 3000 (granted fewer made).

But, having said that, this particular one isn't my cup of tea at that price - for the reasons stated above.

I did read recently (I think it was Classic Motor sports - I can't remember) of a TR3 selling at auction for upwards of $50k - no surprise when you look at the cost of a full out restoration - almost any car will run over $30k in parts and decent paint for a ground up.

In speaking to a gauge restortion shop last week, they indicated a very heavy workload of TR3 gauges - tells me there maybe more and more cars being fully done up - this will bring up the prices for lower end as well.

So, maybe he's ahead of the curve....
