Can someone post a poc of the safety latch attached to the hood? I have the latch but I think there must be a spring any maybe another part I don't have. And it doesn't show any detail in the big 3 parts books or the TR manual (which shows TR2). Thanks in advance.

I've got one pic that shows the spring...sorta what's on a clothes pin. One of the arms of the spring presses against the latch, and the other one against the hood....hope it helps.

Thanks Art - the pic is the right piece but almost too close. Is that a pin through the spring? With circlips?

My problem is I inherited boxes of parts - I need to know what I'm missing so I know what I'm looking for....

Thanks in advance,

Here's a couple more views.
Mine is probably aftermarket...It doesn't have surclips...both pivot points are
just swagged-down pins.

These pix are so great! Thanks guys. (But my bad news is I'm missing more than I thought).

Now a question for the purists: painted or not?

Mine is original and unpainted. Check the judging guide and see what it says.

• Prop Rod and Safety Catch – This is used throughout although the rod’s orientation is turned to
accommodate a different “safety hook engagement” at the body.
It is believed that the release mechanism and prop rod, including the early version’s cable, was installed prior to
painting of the body shell so that the components were painted body color. Natural or body color is accepted on the
release components not part of the body or bonnet (e.g., cable, springs, spring-thimble cup).
