. I was wondering what is the most bang for the buck on a tr3 gas tanks? Moss seems kinda expensive compared to the more independent suppliers. I am wondering what the authenticity or replication quality of the tanks are form the suppliers. Any comments are very welcome.

I have one of Jorge's aluminum tanks. Nice tank. Holds gas. Pretty good deal, all in all.
 
Hey guys

What is the bottom fitting size/type for the TR3 fuel tank (fuel line outlet). I bought a tank from Jorge (EBay) some time ago and now that I'm fitting the tank, I see that the tank I purchased has a half coupling brazed to bottom for fuel outlet. It is a straight coupling, 1/2" fine threads. Not NPT.

My fuel line is 5/16" inch and has a female compression fitting on it. So, I need the male end of a 5/16th compression fitting and all I have is a tank with straight (not tapered) 1/2" female threads.

Not sure how this would seal up? Maybe with a fiber or nitrile washer?

Am I missing an adapter? - seem obvious that I am but I thought I'd check with you all and see what to do here.

The tank is supposed to have the female side of a "reverse" compression fitting, with a male nut & ferrule that fits over the line. The line should be 5/16" od as I recall, which should make the threads 7/16-24. But it might be 3/8", which would be 1/2-24.

Your FLAPS should have the male reverse compression nut.
