TR2/3/3A Tr3 fuel filter

Gents, I have a 56 Tr3 and the old fuel hook ups to the carbs. The metal encased lines with the bolted attachments. Suggestions as to a good location for an inline filter. Has anyone cut the woven metal/rubber lines and added one there with success? Thanks
 
Let's see... 56 should have the shutoff valve on the frame by the fuel pump. Best spot would be between that valve and the pump. There should be a rubber line right there to tap into, and that will trap any crud before it gets into the pump.
 
Personally, I do not use an inline filter. That bronze screen above the fuel pump catch jar traps any fuel tank crud, stuff small enough to get thru that doesn't seem to be a problem.

Of course if you are running an electric pump or non-stock carbs your needs may differ.
 
I still think I'll put a modern inline unit in just to be on the safe side. I'll check on that location too.
