TR2/3/3A TR3 clutch

I'm still working at getting my 58' TR3 rolling. I have the engine running and now need to get the clutch addressed. The pedal for the mater cyl will not depress. I have rebuilt the master and now am moving to the slave. I have not removed the slave cyl as of yet. It appears the clutch is not engaged as I can move the gear lever into gear and turn the rear wheels but the engine dill not turn over. Now for the questions.

If the slave cyl has the clutch disengaged what is the best way to remove it? What cautions are necessary to prevent any damage or injury? Advice?
 
Well, first check to see if the slave pushrod is slack. If so, it's not holding the clutch disengaged. If no slack, I would first crack open the slave bleed valve, to ensure there is no hydraulic pressure in the system. Then back the adjustment off as far as it will go (or until you get some slack). Then assuming your slave is properly mounted, you can start backing off it's mounting bolts and let it move away from the lever.

That should be enough under almost any circumstances, I would think. But if not, before you run out of mounting bolt, I would undo the clevis pin and pull/pry the clevis down off the bottom of the lever. Be sure to have your fingers out of harm's way, as the lever will fly forward with considerable force if it has the pressure plate compressed.
