TR2/3/3A TR3 Clutch / Pressure Plate

HI all -- Question about replacement of a clutch disk and pressure plate for a TR3 -- I assembled it just fine to the flywheel, but then I began wondering if it is possible to have the pressure plate 180 degrees off? Is there a right and wrong way to bolt the pressure plate to the flywheel, or is it OK as long as it corresponds to the dowel pins? Also, I plan on giving the pilot bushing and splines a thin coat of lithium grease, unless someone tells me otherwise.

Just need to get the right crossshaft now, ordered one years ago, but found out last weekend it was for a TR6!

Makes no difference, unless everything (crank, flywheel and clutch) was balanced as a unit at some point.

:iagree: And since you're replacing the plate, there's nothing you can do about it now even if some misguided soul did balance them as a unit.

Personally, I dislike using grease on the splines (and don't forget the transmission front cover, where the TOB carrier rides). I prefer a dry Moly spray. The reason being that grease tends to trap dirt and become sticky over time, while the MoS2 spray doesn't.
