I am looking to buy a car cover and would like opinions and suggestions on what to buy. I would like one that is water proof. Do the covers go on with the top up or down?
Thanks
Greg

They are desigened to fit on the car with the top up but I so rarely have the top up I just use mine with the top down (and tonneau on):

Geez, I was even driving with just the aeroscreen that day. What wuz I thinking?

Mine is a thin material that is water-proof but breathes. The water proofing is not 100% effective after 7 years or so but still keeps the important bits dry. Sorry, cannot recall the name of the material used -- got it from one of the many internet sources that specialize in these.

Mine's a Covercraft custom made to fit so it doesn't look like a droopy bag. I think it's WeatherShield material that breathes to avoid trapping moisture against the finish. The only fitment problem is the fender mirrors that hoist up the cover around them since the overall fit is so snug.

Designed to be fit with the top up.

I have a Technalon material cover on my Audi for inside storage and bump protection. It's bulky (unlike the Weathershield) but great for protection in the garage.

Check out their website, they often have deals going on. e.g. my TR3A cover cost me only $80 because it was a discontinued material. Normally went for around $300.

None of my cars stay outside so I can't vouch for that part.

Weathersheild sounds familiar. BTW, mine is also a custom fit though with no windscreen and no top it is pretty loose.

Much lighter and more compact than the Technalon style which does offer more bump protection but it pretty bulky. The Weathershield material packs into a very small bag so it is easy to stow in the boot.

Nice and thick and tight, as you can see, so there's no flapping around when it's windy to scratch the paint. "Evolution" and "Noah" versions by Wolf are the top of their line.

Looks like Ol' Basil under there PB...

I have a wolf cover for my TR3A and really like it and it fits well. Fits better with the top up to stretch it out.

Cheers,
M. Pied Lourd
