TR2/3/3A TR3 Brake light switch

I have a bad brake light switch on my 56 TR3. I assume I need to bleed the brakes after installation of the new one? If so, can I just bleed the fronts or do I need to do the entire system? Thanks, Tim

If your brake line stop switch is located on the right side frame mount and you can replace it quickly you MAY not need to bleed the brakes at all. Remember I said MAY. After replacing just try the pedal and see if it's firm. If not then bleed the Left front brake furthest from the master cylinder first and then the other right front brake and try again. If still not firm then start at the left rear brake furthest from the master cylinder and work your way closer bleeding all to the master cylinder. You may just want to flush and bleed all to remove any water or contamination in the lines and fill with new. Something caused the switch to fail and with mine it appeared to be contamination in the lines causing the plunger to jam.

When I changed mine in the 58, I just removed and replaced with new. SInce no movement of hydraulics occurred in the 2 seconds it took, no air was sucked into the system, and no bleeding required. It would surprise me if your results varied from mine.
