TR2/3/3A TR3 Boot Construction Info Wanted

My TR3 is a late small mouth model.

When I purchased her she came with a TR3a boot lid, with the central locking handle. My question, did the TR3s have reinforcements under the corners where the budget locks would engage? Mine appears to have none.

I do have an appropriate boot lid that I would like to install.

I looked at my pics, and I don't see any on my TR2, which should be similar. My center latch has a little tab spot welded under the lip of the boot rim.
 
Thanks for the replies.

The good news in that I can use the earlier style boot lid and not worry about damaging the area where the budget latches rest.
