TR5/TR250 TR250 Production Changes???

Great stuff, noted the earlier comment about having a TR4A grill because it is an early 250, never heard that before, can anyone else verify?

I am trying to track the few production TR250 changes that occured, my CD2004(? as I recall, know it is close if not correct, too lazy to double check) has a square bodied wiper motor, I think the later TR250s had the round bodied motor as used on TR6s, my 250 has the 15 AC alternator with external regulator, I believe the later cars had the 15 ACR with internal regulator. Other than the Alternator and possibly wiper motor and possibly grill any other 250 production changes? Anybody know when they occured?

The Piggot book doesn't even list any production changes for the 250 in the production changes section, but refers you to the text, only reference I could find in the text was on the alternator.

Our new 250 did not have a wiper motor. It might still be in the P.O. garage. As I get to know the car better I hope that it will help on what is original or added.

glemon,

My 250 has the square body wiper motor different from my TR6. Comm # is in my signature. Not sure about the alternator.

Cheers,
Tush

TR250's had a square frame DR3 two speed wiper motor like the 4A had. The grill is different from the 4a, there is no notch for the crank handle and the slats are a slightly different shape. The front fender lights are the same as the 4a but the side chrome is different. My Lucas book shows alternators were 15AC with external regulator.
