TR2/3/3A TR2/TR3 grill surround on eBay

is on eBay, listed as a TR2/TR3 grill surround.

Now I know it is not for a TR2, as the grill surround was naked. And the grill surround on a TR3 is thinner and made of 2 pieces (and seems to be worth its weight in gold).

So does anyone know what this thing is? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif

No clue, but it's an interesting piece. I wonder if it might be some obscure aftermarket item...maybe even from Cal Sales / Doretti or someone like that?

I was wondering the same. In Bill Piggott's book "Triumph TR" there is an artists illustration of the 1952 Triumph Sport (1952 motor show brochure) that shows a very similar surround. Also agree that it could be a Tr2 after market item.

Just recv'd an email from the seller. It was on a TR2 he purchased some years ago and has no idea as to it's origin.
