TR2/3/3A TR2 RHD conversion

Replying to another thread made me think to throw this idea out there.
I'm contemplating converting my currently LHD (left hand drive) 54 TR2 to RHD (right hand drive).
My question is, What parts do I need to find that are different?
I know I need a dash panal, and the accelerator pedal assembly, I assume I need to get a wiring loom for a RHD car (I have to buy a new one anyway) I know the pedal box just bolts in on the other side (with rerouted piping of course).
I guess my big question is can the steering gear assembly be bolted in on the right side,(were they the same piece for RHD and LHD cars) or do I need a RHD steering gear so it will bolt in right.
This is a manual linkage type, not rack and pinion (I know racks can't be mounted upside down)
This is just an idea. and yes I have driven RHD cars many times before on US roads.

For a TR3B the wiring harness, the wiring harness will work on either RHD or LHD. I know there were no RHD B's but I believe it was for all post 60000 cars. I suspect that all wiring harnesses will work on either LHD or RHD.

[/ QUOTE ]Well, it's your car. I wouldn't do it, but....

[/ QUOTE ]I'm not absolutely sure, but the Spare Parts Catalogue does list various SPECIFIC part numbers for RH or LH steering, for the steering box (actually "Tube, outer, and box assembly" and "column, inner, and cam assembly") and some other related bits such as the drop arm and idler arm. So it appears you'd have to find a complete early RH steering setup. That might be difficult, since there just weren't an awful lot of RH steering TR2s to begin with.

But yeah, driving a RH steering car here in the States really isn't all that big a deal. I drove a modified MG-TC many years ago, and it was relatively easy to adapt. And someday (if I ever stop procrastinating and get going on it), I'll have my RH steering Standard Pennant saloon on the road. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif (Hmmmm, must talk to Basil about getting a mirror image of this icon!)

Did a little looking... yup, all the bits are different.
KA-CHING$$$$$$$$$ I think LHD is just fine.
Oh well, It was a nice thought.
And it's not like I coulden't slowly collect the pieces, and do it sometime down the road. But right now all my extra $$$ needs to go to getting it back on the road. Not Unneccessary mods just for the sake of being cool.
