TR timing cover seal

Hard to be absolutely certain, as I've seen some seals that have metal on both sides. But it does look backwards to me.

Not that matters, I'd replace the seal anyway.
 
Can't tell exactly, the new seals are not quite the same as the originals - and almost look the same from either direction. But if the spring is on the inside towards the block I think that would be the correct orientation.
 
It just got me re-thinking if I'd put mine in reversed. I put the metal lip forwards on both of mine.

Easy to tell on a modern rubber seal but the metal casing hides the sealing surface.
