Hey:

An ex-engineer from my office(cool guy) sent me this photo last week of when he was stationed in the Army in Germany. Photo shows the Ferrari pits at Nurburg in the late 50's.

Cool.

(p.s. he tells me of the new Healy 100 Lemans he decided against when he bought his TD; could kill himself now for not buying it. Although he'd probably have sold it a long time ago anyway!

I've got him beat. In the mid-1980s before LBC car prices really took off, I was looking for a Big Healey and came across a 100S (yes, you read that correctly) that was an absolute basket case. Missing fenders, a lot of missing stuff. They were asking under $10k. While an outrageous steal now, that was a lot for a broken Healey in boxes in 1986. You could still get a DB-5 driver in the UK in those days for under $25k. My father and I decided to pass on it for our 3000 Mk III, on the theory that Healey prices would never really take off (har, har, har) and that it would be a pain to restore. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
 
Excellent look back at a wonderful time. I have one of those big red car haulers (left of pic) built by Fiat in my 1/43rd collection. Of course it's loaded with TRs.
