TR# gas tank removal

I have something floating in my gas tank. I am going to try to flush it first through the drain hole, but if that does not work- Can you pull the tank without removing body parts? This is a 1960 tR3A.

If you need to remove the tank, you will need to empty your trunk and remove the back-board whigh hided the tank. The you will need to remove the interior padding for the rear seat. Then you remove 4 bolts holding the tank straps down. Then you will have to remove the chromed gas tank filler cap. This is easier on a late TR3A (after Comm. No. TS-60000) but if you have the earlier type you will probably have to cut through the rubber hose just below the filler cap to remove it all. See the attachment . It's a late TR3A TS-81551-L.

Perfect. Now that I see the picture, I remember putting the tank in about 8-10 years ago. Thanks, I hope the flushing works first.

A floater in yer gas tank? You better notify
Sarah over at CSI. She and Warrick specialize
in "floaters".

There are certain things we see in the Ohio river that we call floaters as well, don't like floaters!
