Wedge TR 7 starter, shelled pinons

Hi All, The starter pinon on my automatic was shelled(broken) when it was started with part throttle and it back fired. Got a new starter off e-bay for an excellent price, but it lasted only 'til the broken piece off the previous starter got caught up by the flywheel. Assuming that the flywheel is not ruined, does anyone have an easy(cheap and easy would be good) way to get the broken pieces out of the bell housing. There is no access cover on the bottom. (that would be too easy) I thought I might try fishing them out with a magnet through the starter mounting hole, but that's all I've come up with. Have another starter on the way, but don't want a repeat of last experience and don't want to unbolt the bell housing to slide the tranny back. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/nopity.gif
