Hi....

I looked at a TR6 today and it had some weird rust for a california car ,

the top rear edge of the rear fenders were rotted thru, looked like this was a dirt trap and that the dirt had helped it rot thru

is this common ?

Very common in the harsher climates(like here /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif) I saw one recently where the whole rear corner was completely gone!
