TR-6 Gone

It had to happen someday. I'm moving to Venice, Florida next month and can't take the Tr6 or the Alfa with me so - bye bye TR6. I sold it to a fellow enthusiast/car nut. I still have the Alfa and if anyone is interested, it's a Florida car with 93,000.00 miles on it and many new parts including a new clutch two years ago. I'm going to list it for $14,900.00 but I'm open to offers. In other news, down in Florida I had a bad fall in April and broke 4 ribs. It was mis-diagnosed as bruised ribs but when I returned to CT, I got pneumonia and my A-Fib kicked up and I spent 6 days in Stamford Hospital. Stay out of hospitals if you can. You won't get any sleep and only the lovely nurses made it bearable. I had a cataract operation on my right eye last week and it's now 20/20. Amazing for a guy my age according to the doctor. Now I'll do my left eye. You don't know your vision has deteriorated it's so slow and subtle. I'm selling a lot of my tools too. Guess what? In 3 weeks I'll be 91. Where did the time go? It goes faster every year if you haven't noticed. I hope everyone on this Board is doing OK and all the old timers are still around..

so much Yikes! in this post, glad you are on the mend and good luck with the move! Cars are just metal

cheers!

Paul - good to hear from you. Did you ever publish your MG story?

Wish I had funds and space for that Alfa of yours, believe me. That was my goal for many years.

Sey gezunt.

Wow Paul, it sounds like it has been an eventful year. I'm sorry about your ribs and your cars. I wish you the best of luck with the move.

Glad you’re on the mend Paul. Stay healthy, and enjoy Venice.

Looks like someone will get a bargain on your Alfa.

Wishing you a smooth move south - that can't be easy. I am glad to hear your ribs are on the mend (or mended?). And please, quit dangling that Alfa in front of my nose  I love those spiders; the sound is simply mesmerizing! (Want to trade for a 1971 MB 250?)

Sorry to hear of your misfortune, Paul. Even though you no longer have the TR, we hope you will still continue to hang out here and be part of the BCF community. You don't have to own one to play here! Best of luck on your new home in FL!

I'm about 2 weeks post recovery on my 2nd eye cataract operation and SO worth it. I'm "only" 60 and you're right...the deterioration was so slow and subtle I wasn't aware of what was happening until I started having trouble seeing my computer screens at work. Amazed at how "simple" the surgery was - I was in and out in about 90 minutes. If anyone is looking at having this done (see what I did there?? - Ok, I'll stop now! LOL) don't hesitate. You'll be glad you had it done. Adjusting to readers is taking a bit of getting used to, but small matter to deal with.
