TR-5 on eBay!

4aKen said:
Anybody surprised at the stall....maybe all those years of hearing about PI problems stuck?

The stall may be more about the bidder than it is about the car. I cancelled a bid from a 1 rated bidder on my TR4 Hard Top last week. Turns out he was a legitimate buyer (ended up buying my car off ebay), but other bidders don't know when they see that kind of rating.

Hey TR6Bill,

I really like the idea of a BCF Cap!

Basil, Are you reading this? :computer:

I`m going to estimate a selling price of $28,600. :winner1:

Regards, Russ

IF the car is in the indicated condition, he'd be nuts to put the reserve lower than something like $32,000.

All he has to do it wait . . . someone will pay the current retail value for this car. It's probably "worth" $35,000 or more, to the right buyer.

Unless he's in a hurry to sell, he'd best wait. That's a rare car for some big-pockets buyer. It should go for the book price, IMHO.

However, that's a awful lotta cash for a Triumph. Ouch.

I concur. Therefore, I stick by my guesstimate of $43K. There just ain't many of them out there and in that condition. Someone could get a professional restore on the car for, say, another $30K and you would have a rare gem indeed, for a rich guy.

Think about it. Someone paid over $94K for a vanilla TR4 and they are a dime a dozen, in comparison.

What happened to the last minute bid rush, or in fact, any late bids?

It went to 25,600$ but did not made the reserve...

It's re-listed now.

Anybody noticed the front grill was from a TR4 :smirk:
