TR4/4A Tr 4a, steering wheel cover

Back in 1976, I removed a nice cover wrapped on my steering wheel thinking it was not original. Now that I joined this forum , it occurred to me that perhaps it was factory installed. Does anyone know if these covers were TR original? Thanks.

I'm not aware of any factory installed steering wheel cover.

me neither but they are nice on these wheels to get a little extra grip/comfort and also cover up any cracks there might be in the plastic or whatever they are made of, bakelite? Getting harder to find one that fits our big skinny steering wheels though.

Don't have the link handy, but on ebay there is at least one vendor selling Wheelskin covers that you can specify size and have it custom made at a decent price. Worked perfectly for my TR3A wheel.

unfortunately not for my Land Rover which has a much larger wheel.
Have you checked with Wheelskins (as Randy mentioned) ? They advertise that they can make custom covers for "any steering wheel"; and have them in stock s large as 22" diameter.

Wow, sounds like prices have shot up there, I bought one earlier in the year for less than $40 delivered. Still a very nice product though.
