Hi,

I have a questions about the counter weight that was added on the end of the TR-4a transmission tail shaft. Was effect at reducing vibration? If so what RPM? I have a TR-3a with a 4a engine and transmission. Is it worth installing one?

Thanks, Roy

Roy,
My '63 Tr4 came with the tail shaft vibration damper installed.
Here's the '63 ST Service bulletin that talks about it's purpose.
Guess it was to reduce a vibration period at around 2700 - 3000 rpm....
Sorry the scan is so hard to read.
M.

Hi Merlin, Thanks for the info. My gearbox is out of a '62 and the at the RPM band. I am going to try to track one down.
