TR 4 Auxillary Fuse Box

I am planning to add an aux. fuse box to my TR4 for the cooling fan, alternator, headlights, fuel pump, stereo.
Any suggestions on wiring to power and fuse sizes to use would be appreciated.
Thanks

Jim,
Headlights shouldn't be fused, relayed perhaps. Alternators are a direct wired setup. Cooling fans are usually run through a relay with the main power feed inline-fused with a 35-amp American-rated blade fuse. Perhaps you should ping Dan Masters for his book on TR6 wiring. His details about auxiliary electrics and additional power sources would certainly apply to the TR4 in most ways. Dan is listed as danmas on the forum and he spells out most every conceivable issue related to the Triumph wiring, especially the issues of fuse and wire ratings.

I added an auxillary fuse box using an old TR4 fuse box (to keep it all-Lucas I guess) placing it discreetly under the passenger side of the dash. Used it to fuse the radio and cigarette lighter (also hidden, for powering an air compressor, 12VDC impact wrench, etc). I do not have an electric fuel pump.

Probably a very good idea to use a relay for the headlamps as that switch can get warmish if the contacts are not very clean & tight.

Yes the headlamps should be operated through a relay and properly fused.---Fwiw---Keoke

Jim- Check out Dan's site @ www.advanceautowire.com Dan is not a big proponent of fusing the headlights.,even though the kit he sells does have said fuses. Contact him on all this . He likes helping out Triumph owners.
