TR2/3/3A TR-3A Seat Padding

I have the Moss seat padding kit #643-938. Has anyone used this kit in rebuilding their seats? I need a little experience help with mine.

Thanks, Tinkerman

Yes, I used that exact kit when I redid my seats. It was very complete and made for a nice job. Just look carefully at how the horse hair (I don't think it's really horse hair) and padding are laid on when you take everything apart. I was very happy with the way the seats turned out, and recommend using that kit to do the job.

Once everything is off the old seats, repair any cracks or rotted areas in the seat pans. The wood for stapling the covers on will most likely need to be replaced. I had a luthier friend of mine bend and make up some new pieces, but it can be done at home. You can use several smaller pieces for the back piecs of wood, instead of one single bent piece...which actually is a compound curve. My luthier buddy had a heck of a time with it. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/jester.gif
