TR2/3/3A TR-3, Pitting on gear shift lever ball.

Afternoon:
Started working on my tranny cover this afternoon. I finally got the gear shift lever out and noticed that on one half of the ball at the bottom of the lever there is fairly bad pitting at the center. Is this going to cause a problem, should I hunt for another in better shape? Should I buff this one out?
As usual any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Tinkerman

Hi Tinkerman,

If the transmission is shifting smoothly, clean it, greese it, drive it. It would have to be really bad to cause problems.
