TR 3 Cylinder Head??

I was cleaning out my storage shed last week and ran across what I think is a TR3 cylinder head. I have had it since the mid 70s when I bought it along with some other car stuff for my MGs. It was new and has never been on a car, but there is surface rust from the years. The part number on the side is 302114 and there is an A260 cast on the top in raised letters. Do any of you Triumph guys recognize that number? Is this a TR3 cylinder head?
Thanks,
Charlie

I can't tell without looking at a couple of heads I have back home, but you can tell it's not from an MG by the size, and the fact the ports are not siamesed.
If all the ports are closely aligned it may be an early TR3 or a TR2 head, if the inlet ports are significantly higher, the "high port" head, then it could be TR3A or Tr4 series. The later head is worth 5 bhp.
I will try to remember to look at casting numbers when I get home,(run night tonight!) but likely someone else will give you a definite answer by tomorrow.
Simon.

Based on the information in Teri Ann's Triumph web page the cylinder head appears to be an early high port head for late TR3s. Maybe Simon can confirm that. I guess I'll put it in the For Sale adds and see if it can be helpful to someone.

The cylinder head on my TR3A is the original head that came with the car when I bought it brand new in 1958. The number cast between sparkplug hole #2 and #3 reads 302137. But the part number for this is a different number after the casting was machined according to a drawing bearing that different part number. as per TeriAnn's Fig. 2 on TS 27489 LO.

My parts book from Triumph dated 1958 does not list anything for 302114. But the rough casting before any machining is done would not have been listed as a Pt. No. for sale as a spare. The parts list has 302118 as an intake manifold for a TR2 - TR3.
