TR4/4A TR-250 seat covers on TR-4 seats

So there's a guy on Fleabay selling a set of seat covers for a TR-250 that would look pretty decent in my TR-4. I'm not a purist about the piping and so on so if they will fit my seats, I'm interested. All the usual suspects (Moss, TRF, V-B) list different numbers for the 4, 4A, and 250 seats but if the basic seat back shape is the same, it wouldn't matter -- much. Does anybody have any serious data on the subject? Thanks.

Dave

It may depend in part on whether you have an early or late TR4.

The early TR4s essentially had TR3 seats. The later seats were a totally different design.

The most obvious difference, the late seat were hinged at the front - the whole seat could tilt forward. The early seats had the drivers seat fixed and the passenger seat with a back that hinged forward.

No serious data, but I think the seats are pretty similar in shape, but not the same, I think both the frames and foam/support structure is different. You could probably slip them over, but I am guessing you would have some wrinkles and puckers in them.
