TR5/TR250 TR 250 oil pump like no other ??

Hi all,

Have a question here
removed my, what I thought was an original oil pump
thinking it would resemble the picture of a 250 pump in the TRF red book, it does as for the internals and the base but the top is a plate and a tube that sucks the oil
it has, in raised letters EATON on one side and the other has HOBURTON stamped in the middle is a what appears like a serial number HE6402 \\

after measuring the diameter they are the same as the new TR 6 pump that I will be fitting but(old) 1/4 shorter in height

thoughts on should I proceed ????
did a test fit and everything fits well and the bolts match up fine

Thanks
Tony :wall:

If you have the new aluminium pump with the wire screen I noticed the same thing when I did my TR250. Its been 6 years now but I remember loosening the jam nut and sliding the pickup tube down until it was a little past the original pump pick up. I also added baffles in the sump to keep the oil near the pick up during that "occasional" hard acceleration and cornering.

yes I am installing the new aluminum pump
thanks for the info on the pick up lengthing
did you use the baffles as drawn in the Triumph competition prep.
manual ? Again thank you for the details
