70 911e went to Vegas....first caller drew the money from bank..jumped in his truck pulling a trailer and it left in a hour. Now I'll finish the 75S and see if it''ll go as fast.

How much did the 911 sell for, Jack? (Apologies if I'm being too nosey!)

No problem...7K. Very nice car...even had a/c. I could have held onto it longer and gotten more I'm sure, but it went to a good home..and I still have one 911 left. Its a 75S model, f/i and sunroof. Arctic silver with Herringbone interior. That may be ready to go soon, we're liquidating about a dozen of our vehicles and trythfully I like driving my B and CGT alot better . Also, we're looking at a new Pontiac Soltice, would fit quite well behind the motorhome for those trips to the mountains. Tried out an 07 yesterday, white with black leather, 2.4 non-turbo five speed standard. Screams and handles like a slot car.

We're okay but pretty rattled. Wife and I were t home when the sirens went off, all the Amarillo tv staions went to the emergency broadcast deal...we had about 13 minutes or so to call the kids(they live real close to us here in town) and we threw all the blankets, heavy coats and whatever for padding into the interior hallway, grabbed flashlites and the to dogs and kept an eye on the radar. The first one toched down at the south end of the town just over the overpass. Tore up houses, businesses, churches...everything. Bounced over the tracks and gave a direct hit to more places, business and residential alike. Totally destroyed a Carquest parts store, small carlot, big R/V place...one or two of the big ones launched out and penetrated the walls of the bowling alley next door to it. Dozens of homes destroyed, vehicles demolished, anything in the path of it. If bounced over my shop, I had packed as many cars as I could inside, but my class A motorhome, my 911, 65 Mustang and about 20 other cars we're outside. I dodged the big one. It touched down just north of us destroying more homes, another school and everything you can imagine. Alot of the folks, especially in the southern part of town, are low income. I'm going to try to get a list of worst him...especially with families and see if I can donate a car or two so they can at least get to their jobs and start over. I'll try to browbeat a few of the rather well off local car dealers to maybe let me cruise their "lemon lots" and see if I can pick up a few more.May not be show cars, but I'm sure they'll accept them as if they were. Thanks for the thoughts. I'll keep you updated and try to post a few pics. Again...thanks.

Wow, close. Go Jack go.

Good grief, sounds terrifying. Glad you escaped the worst of it, Jack.

Things like that tend to bring out the best in people (and, sometimes the worst). Glad to hear you're OK!

Jack,

That's great that you're thinking of the
people who were less fortunate - and actually
doing something about it.My hat's off to you!

Glad you're safe Jack, I have a new found 'concern' for those things after I got a little too close to an F2 last March; they're terrifying. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/eek.gif
A noble deed with the cars too. BZ.

We've had the first death from the tornado, 90 year old lady passed away from head injuries. Pretty sad as she was healthy and a great lady. Another oldster...a man..is in a Lubbock Tx. hospital in bad shape. But on the bright side..FEMA is here and is surveying the damage!!! That means help should start trickling in about the time my five year old grandson starts college....The media was...and is still here. Made Clovis look like a third world country. Most of the people they put on camera looked like they were about to bolt for the border. Didn't show the damage to the nicer homes. Showed trailers that should have been scrapped in the 70s and a bunch of houses that were about to collapse on their own. My favorite wrecking yard took a direct hit..as well as my closest parts store and R/V place.
