Tough day for Wife's niece

My wife's niece is a newly trained 911 operator in Denver. Yesterday she had a frantic from a family who had an infant who wasn't breathing. Despite her best efforts to help the family over the phone, the baby later died in the hospital. Niece is devastated and has been given a week off. 911 operator is one of those jobs I'm not sure I could do.

Oh wow, those are the ones you never hear about but I guess there are more of them than we realize. I don't think I would be good at that job either.

I hope she knows it’s not her fault. She tried as best as she could. Surely unfortunate. I hope she bounces back from this and helps others in need.

That's really gut-wrenching,even second hand.
I've heard Firefighters try to hold it together over
the radio when a teen or younger person is involved.
When an older person doesn't make it,your mind
can accept it easier,as they've lived a long life,but there's
no justification for when an infant, child,or teen doesn't
make it.
Every Firefighter want to be the one who gets to
save a life, but none want to have to deal with this.
I hope that she gets counseling,& is able to deal with
this,& return to work.
