Just got an email from Toshiba that their selling W-7 lap tops. Must be left overs is all I can figure. Limit 5 per order and not for resale. $399.99 ea. Looks like their coming directly from Toshiba. Go figure. PJ

Doesn't look that good. I bought mine at Staples oh, a year ago end of this month, with Gates8, for bottom line about $250.
 
I ride herd on a brace of Toshi laptops (about six of 'em) running Win7, for a client with a retail business. They seem fine after a couple years' use. Win7 doesn't like to network easily on a Class-C LAN scheme, but once it understands it can't have its own way with the other children it works solidly. They run PoS warez over a WiFi (Buffalo router) connection, server-based app's and DB.

Not so with Win8. Hateful O/S, IMHO.
 
I like Toshiba, My wife and my laptops are both Toshibas. They seem to build a solid product.
